This is 4.3 oz fiberglass mesh with 36 holes per square inch - ideal for working with small tiles. One side is self-adhesive, so you don't have to make a mess with glue as you're laying out your design! Instead, you just lay your tiles in place, and that's it! The adhesive is strong enough to hold your design, but light enough to allow you to pull off & move misplaced tiles. Once you try this type of mesh, you'll never want to go back to your old methods again!
Mosaic mesh can be cut very easily into any shape or size you need. If you're working on a project like a border near a ceiling or a kitchen / bathroom backsplash, you can create it in several, smaller sections or create one large mosaic and then cut it into smaller chunks (between the tiles) before installing. Then place it all together on the wall like pieces of a puzzle.
DIRECTIONS
Place your mesh on a flat surface on top of your pattern, if you have one, with the sticky side up. Then, simply begin sticking your tiles to the mesh, face up. Press firmly so they stick well. The adhesive is strong enough to hold, but light enough so you can very easily pluck misplaced tiles off & move them around.
Next, trim stray edges, prepare your mosaic surface with adhesive and then stick the entire piece in place.
The mesh is 37 1/2" wide and the price is per linear foot. We have a large quantity available, and whatever length you order will be sent to you in one continuous sheet. So for a purchase quantity of 1, you will receive a piece measuring 12" x 37.5". If you order a quantity of 10, you will receive a sheet that is 10' x 37.5".
